Get a Microsoft account verification number
Use a temporary number when Microsoft asks to confirm a mobile phone during Microsoft account registration. The number is supplied for receiving a verification code, not for calls, SIM use, or permanent account recovery.
- Create an account with our service and add balance.
- Choose an available country, then select Microsoft as the service.
- Order the temporary Microsoft activation and copy the displayed number.
- On the Microsoft account sign-up page, choose the phone verification option and paste in that number with its country code.
- Request the SMS security code. When Microsoft sends it, the message appears in your service dashboard.
- Copy the code into Microsoft’s confirmation field to complete that verification step.
Resolve a missing Microsoft security code
First, check that the country code and every digit entered on the Microsoft page match the temporary number shown in your dashboard. Allow a short time for the message to arrive, and avoid repeatedly requesting codes, since Microsoft may invalidate an earlier code after issuing a new one.
If no code appears, use another temporary number. Choosing a different available country can also help where Microsoft’s delivery or validation rules differ by region. Do not use a number that is not assigned to your activation, and do not enter guessed codes. If Microsoft shows a restriction or requests another verification method, follow the options on its screen.
Choose Microsoft activation or rental access
An activation is intended for one Microsoft SMS code: for example, confirming a new Microsoft account or completing a single phone check. It is the sensible choice when the task ends after that code is entered.
A rental keeps a temporary number available for a period, which may suit a legitimate workflow where Microsoft could send another sign-in or confirmation code while that rental remains active. It still is not a permanent number and should not be treated as long-term recovery information. If the account will matter later, add a durable security method that you control directly.
Check Microsoft account phone privacy settings
Microsoft may request a phone number while creating an account, adding security info, recovering access, or responding to an unusual sign-in. The number can help it send security codes and assess account protection; it is not normally shown as a public field on an Outlook.com mailbox, Xbox profile, or Microsoft 365 presence card.
Review the Security area of your Microsoft account after sign-up, especially security info, recent activity, sign-in methods, and recovery options. Also check privacy and profile settings in the individual Microsoft service you use, such as Teams or Xbox, because contact sharing and discoverability controls can be service-specific.
Protect Microsoft sign-in after verification
After the account is created, turn on Microsoft two-step verification and preferably configure Microsoft Authenticator or another authenticator app you control. Save recovery details only where Microsoft instructs you to do so, and use a strong, unique password.
Stay signed in on your trusted device during the first day where practical, so you can finish profile and security setup without creating unnecessary new sign-in challenges. A temporary number can receive the code for the selected activation or rental period; it is not a substitute for a personal recovery phone, an authenticator app, or responsible account management.
