Frequently Asked Questions

Simple answers about how SMSZ works: numbers, delivery, prices, refunds, and privacy. Can’t find your question? Ask support.

Getting started

What is SMSZ and what does it do?

SMSZ gives you a temporary phone number so you can receive SMS codes online. You do not need to give a website your real number. Pick a service and a country, get a number, and the code appears in your SMSZ dashboard. Your real number stays private.

What do I need to create an account?

Only an email address and a password. We do not ask for your name, your phone number, or any ID. This service exists to protect your privacy, so we keep the data we collect as small as possible.

How do I receive my first SMS code?

Sign up, add money to your balance, then pick a service (like Telegram or Google) and a country. You get a number right away. Type that number into the app you want to verify. The SMS code shows up in your dashboard by itself, usually in 1–3 minutes.

Which services and countries are supported?

Hundreds of popular apps, including Telegram, WhatsApp, Google, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Numbers come from more than 100 countries. Prices and stock change over time, and the selector on the site always shows what is available right now.

Numbers and delivery

How fast do SMS messages arrive?

Most codes arrive in 1–3 minutes. The speed also depends on the app that sends the code and the phone network, not only on us. If the code does not arrive in time, the order is cancelled and your money goes back to your balance by itself.

What is the difference between one-time and rental numbers?

A one-time number receives one code for one service, then it is gone. It is the cheapest choice for a quick signup. A rental number stays yours for days or weeks and can receive any number of messages from any sender. Pick a rental when you expect more messages later, like login codes.

Can I use the same number for several services?

A one-time number works for one service only. A rental number can receive SMS from any sender while you rent it, so you can use one rented number to verify several apps.

What happens to a number after I am done with it?

The number is removed from your account and later goes back into the pool. If someone else gets that number in the future, they cannot see your old messages. Those stay private in your account. Tip: for accounts you want to keep, turn on app-based two-factor login so you never need SMS on that number again.

A service rejected my virtual number. Why?

Some apps block numbers they think are virtual. And some numbers were already used on that app by a previous owner. The good news: you are not charged when no code arrives. Just take a new number, best from a different country, and try again.

Pricing and payments

How much does a number cost?

You pay per number, and the price depends on the country and the service. Some start at just a few cents. You always see the exact price before you buy. There are no subscriptions and no hidden fees.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept crypto: Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, and other popular coins, through a secure payment provider. After the network confirms your deposit, the money is added to your account balance. You then pay for numbers from that balance.

Why do you use a balance system instead of paying per number?

Crypto payments take a few minutes to confirm, but you need your number right away. So you deposit once, and after that every purchase is instant. Refunds for failed numbers also go straight back to your balance with no waiting.

Refunds

What happens if the SMS never arrives?

You get your money back automatically. When the waiting time runs out and no message came, the order is cancelled and the full price returns to your balance. You never pay for a code you did not receive.

Can I get a refund for other issues?

Yes. Write to support and we look at every case, usually within 24–48 hours. Orders where the SMS did arrive, and rentals that already ended, cannot be refunded. All the rules are in our Payment & Refund Policy.

Privacy and security

Is my personal information safe?

We only store what the service needs to work: your email, an encrypted password, and your payment history. We never sell your data. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what we keep and for how long.

Can anyone else read the SMS messages I receive?

No. While a number is yours, only your account can see its messages. A number is never given to two customers at the same time.

Is using a temporary phone number legal?

Yes. Receiving SMS on a virtual number is legal in most countries. What matters is how you use it. SMSZ is for honest verification only. Using it for fraud, spam, or getting around bans breaks our Terms of Use, and we close accounts that do this.

Should I use a temporary number for my bank or government accounts?

No. Banks, government sites, and your main email will send codes to your number for years. Those accounts need a number you will always own. Use temporary numbers for everything else: social apps, marketplaces, free trials, and one-time signups.
