Free Dutch Phone Numbers to Receive SMS (+31)
Every number below is a real Dutch mobile line (+31 6) with a public inbox. Copy one that is online, use it wherever a Netherlands mobile is required, and the SMS appears on this page within seconds — no account, no payment, nothing to install.
Temporary Netherlands phone numbers, free to use
These inboxes are public.
Every message sent to a free number is visible to everyone — you do not rent the number or get exclusive access. Never use free numbers for banking, email recovery, or two-factor authentication on accounts that matter. For a fresh number only you can see, get a private temporary number from just a few cents.

Dutch phone number format, with examples
Dutch mobile numbers are ten digits inside the Netherlands and nine after the +31 country code. Every mobile starts with 06, and the 0 is dropped once you add +31.
- 06 1234 5678
- Local format: ten digits, always 06 for a mobile.
- +31 6 1234 5678
- International format, used on this page. Same number, 0 removed.
- 020, 010, 070, 030 = landlines
- Area codes for Amsterdam (020), Rotterdam (010), The Hague (070) and Utrecht (030). Landlines cannot receive SMS codes.
- 085, 088 and 097 numbers
- 085 and 088 are VoIP and company numbers, and 097 is reserved for machine-to-machine SIMs. Apps often reject them, so every number here starts with 06.
- Wrong: +31 06 1234 5678
- Keeping the 0 after +31 makes the number invalid, so the code never arrives.
When a free Netherlands number is enough
A free number is fine for
- Thuisbezorgd, Too Good To Go and other food apps
- Marktplaats, Vinted and other marketplaces
- Free trials, Wi-Fi hotspots and newsletter sign-ups
- Forums and small social apps
- Testing how your own service sends SMS to +31
Use a private number or your own
- DigiD and MijnOverheid
- ING, Rabobank, ABN AMRO and Tikkie
- Health insurers and the Belastingdienst
- Email or account recovery and two-factor codes
Fake Dutch phone number for verification? Use a real one
A made-up number may pass a form’s format check, but the verification SMS goes to whoever owns that number, or nowhere. Either way, you never see the code.
A free number from this page is real: it passes the check, and the SMS lands in a public inbox you can read. Use it for one-off sign-ups, and keep your own 06 number off forms you will only use once.

How to get a Netherlands phone number from abroad
You do not need to live in the Netherlands, hold a BSN or have a Dutch address. Copy a number from this page, enter it in the form and read the code here from anywhere.
Some Dutch services also check your BSN, bank account or IP address. A phone number does not change those checks: if a site wants DigiD or iDEAL, a free number will not get you through.
Moving to the Netherlands? Use a private number while you wait for your BSN and bank account, then switch to a Dutch SIM.
Need a number only you can see?
Free numbers are shared, so some services reject them or show codes to everyone. A private Netherlands temporary number is fresh, works with 100+ services, and the SMS goes only to you — from just a few cents, with an automatic refund if no code arrives.
Free Netherlands numbers — frequently asked questions
How do I get a free Netherlands phone number?
Copy any online number on this page — there is no signup, payment or app. Enter it wherever an SMS code is requested, then open that number’s page to read the message as it arrives.
What does a Dutch mobile number look like?
+31 6 followed by eight digits internationally, or 06 and the same eight digits inside the Netherlands: ten digits in total locally.
Are the messages private?
No. Every SMS sent to a free Netherlands number is published here for anyone to read. Use these numbers for throwaway sign-ups only, never for DigiD, banking, Tikkie or account recovery.
Is a Dutch number the same as a Belgian one?
No. The Netherlands (Holland is the same country) uses +31; Belgium uses +32. Pick the country the app asks for.
Can I use a free Netherlands number for WhatsApp?
You can try, but shared numbers are often already registered on WhatsApp. For an account you want to keep, use a private +31 number.
Why has my code not arrived?
Wait a minute and refresh. Check that the number was entered as +31 6 without the extra 0. If nothing arrives, the service probably blocks shared numbers, so try another number here or a private one.
