Telegram Temporary Phone Numbers

Telegram sends a 5-digit login code by SMS. Copy a free number below, use it in the app, and read the code in its public inbox — no signup here, no payment, nothing to install.

Free numbers you can try for Telegram

Any number marked Online can take a Telegram code. Open its page to read the SMS.

These inboxes are public.

Every message sent to a free number is visible to everyone — you do not rent the number or get exclusive access. Never use free numbers for banking, email recovery, or two-factor authentication on accounts that matter. For a fresh number only you can see, get a private temporary number from just a few cents.

How to get a Telegram code in 3 steps

1

Copy an online number

Every number is shown in full international format. Copy one and remember its country.

2

Enter it in Telegram

Open Telegram, tap Start Messaging, choose the same country in the picker, and type the remaining digits.

3

Read the 5-digit code

Go back to the number page. The code arrives in the inbox within seconds and is highlighted, ready to copy.

Will a free number work for Telegram?

Usually, yes. Telegram is friendlier to shared numbers than most apps, and the SMS normally lands in seconds. If a number already has an old Telegram account on it, the code goes into that app instead of by SMS — pick a different number when that happens.

Heavily used numbers can also be blocked by Telegram. If two or three in a row fail, take a private number: it is new, and the code is visible only to you.

How Telegram sends your code

Telegram picks one of these, roughly in this order:

In-app message
If the number already has a Telegram account logged in somewhere, the code goes to that app and never reaches the public inbox.
SMS
The normal case for a fresh number: a 5-digit code lands in the inbox on this site within seconds.
Phone call
Offered after the SMS times out. Free numbers cannot answer calls, so wait for the text or try another number.
Cloud password
If the account has two-step verification set, the code alone will not log you in. Nobody can recover that password — use another number.

Free or private for Telegram?

A free number is fine for

  • A throwaway account to join a group or channel
  • Reading a channel without giving out your own number
  • Testing a bot or a login flow you built
  • A short-term account you will not need tomorrow

Use a private number for

  • Your main Telegram account
  • Anything with saved messages or contacts
  • An account that admins a channel or group
  • Any account you protect with a cloud password

Keep your real number private on Telegram

Telegram can show your number to people who have it in their contacts. Whatever number you use, open Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Phone Number, and set it to Nobody so people find you by username instead.

A temporary number goes one step further: the account is not tied to your SIM at all. Use a private one and the login code stays between you and Telegram.

Need a number only you can see?

Free numbers are shared, so some services reject them or show codes to everyone. A private temporary number is fresh, works with 100+ services, and the SMS goes only to you — from just a few cents, with an automatic refund if no code arrives.

Telegram temporary numbers — frequently asked questions

Can I create a Telegram account with a free number?

Yes — copy a number marked Online, enter it in Telegram, and read the 5-digit code in its inbox. Keep in mind the inbox is public, so anyone could request a new code later and log in.

The SMS from Telegram never came. Why?

Most often the number already has a Telegram account, so the code went into that app instead of by SMS. The number may also be blocked from heavy use. Try another number, or use a private one.

Can someone else take over my Telegram account?

On a free number, yes. The inbox is open to everyone, so anyone can ask Telegram for a fresh login code and read it. Use free numbers only for accounts you can afford to lose.

Do I need to keep the number to stay logged in?

No. Telegram keeps the session on your device. You only need the number again to log in somewhere new — and a free number may be offline by then.

Can I move my Telegram account to another number later?

Yes. In Settings, tap Edit, then Phone Number. It is a clean way to move an account from a free number to a private one you keep.
